About Our Mental Health Services

Success Street Mental Health is a school-based mental health program provided to Pre K-12 students in the Waterloo Community School District. Through this partnership with Waterloo Schools, early intervention is possible. Research has indicated that early identification and intervention is effective in treating student mental health concerns. Our goal is to intervene early and improve student success.

What is a School-Based Health Care Program?

A school-based health care program provides many of the same services that can be found in community agencies. Success Street offers a full range of comprehensive health care services on site at East and West High School. The school-based health care providers from Peoples Clinic work collaboratively with parents, school staff, and other professionals in order to surround each student with quality care.

How do I pay for care?

If you have insurance, bring your insurance card to all appointments. We accept all major health insurance coverage, as well as: Medicaid, Medicare, Hawk-I, and Iowa Wellness. If you do not have insurance, that’s OK! We believe quality health care should be affordable to all. You will never be denied services because of your inability to pay. We offer a sliding fee scale to help make your care more affordable.

Health Care Services Available:

· Well Care Checks

· Immunizations

· Sport Physicals

· Illness Care

· Ongoing Care for Asthma, Weight Issues, Other Long-Term Health Issues

· Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) Testing and Treatment

· Injuries

Other Information Services are available to all individuals, age 0 through 21 years of age. Many are eligible at a reduced fee. Medicaid and insurance will be accepted

Carver Middle School

Black Hawk County Health Department

School-Based Clinics

About the Program Success Street is a collaboration of local agencies dedicated to promoting the welfare of youth ages 0-21, in Black Hawk County.

Services include:

· Financial assistance for dental referrals for those who qualify

· Immunizations

· Pregnancy testing and referral for prenatal care

· Primary health care

Services are provided by licensed medical, and mental health professionals. All services are confidential and the information shared with our providers will not be released to the schools without prior consent from the child’s parent or guardian.
